The OAK-D Pro PoE is the ultimate camera for robotic vision, providing a human-like perception of the world through the combination of an active stereo-depth camera and a high-resolution colour camera. It boasts on-device neural network inferencing and computer vision capabilities, as well as night vision for perceiving low-light and no-light environments. Additionally, the OAK-D Pro PoE uses PoE for both power and GigE connectivity.

The PoE connection enables the cameras to communicate with other computers using networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, HTTP, MQTT etc. With the device flash memory on our PoE models, you can also run your programs in standalone mode. Furthermore, our OAK PoE cameras are housed in a rugged, IP-rated enclosure that is required for industrial and outdoor use.

For applications that demand high-quality and dependable stereo depth perception in any type of environment, including low-light and texture-less scenes where traditional passive stereo approaches may struggle, it is recommended to use the Pro version of the camera.

Key Features:

  • 4 TOPS of processing power (1.4 TOPS for AI - RVC2 NN Performance)
  • Active stereo: IR dot projector improves depth perception, especially for low-visual-interest surfaces by projecting thousands of IR dots to the scene.
  • Night vision: IR illumination LED enables running your AI and CV algorithms in low-light or no-light environments
  • Run any AI model, even custom-architectured/built ones (models need to be converted)
  • Encoding: H.264, H.265, MJPEG - 4K/30FPS, 1080P/60FPS
  • Computer vision: warp (undistortion), resize, crop via ImageManip node, edge detection, feature tracking. You can also run custom CV functions
  • Stereo depth perception with filtering, post-processing, RGB-depth alignment, and high configurability
  • BNO086 IMU single chip 9-axis sensor with embedded sensor fusion
  • Object tracking: 2D and 3D tracking with ObjectTracker node
  • Dimensions: 111 x 40 x 31.3mm
  • Weight: 184g

Three variant options are available:

Three RGB camera versions of the OAK-D Pro PoE are offered: two regular versions, the IMX378 Fixed-Focus and IMX378 Auto-Focus, and a unique version, the OV9782 Fixed-Focus. In the Fixed-Focus type, the lens is mechanically fixed in place; in the Auto-Focus variant, the lens position is dynamically controlled by an electromagnet. Each of the three camera configurations can clearly see objects 50 cm away.

Auto-Focus - For capturing objects within the range of 8 cm to 50 cm from the device (refer to the video), it is advisable to utilise auto-focus cameras. However, if required, the DepthAI API can be employed to adjust the focus position to a specific setting manually.

Fixed-Focus - For applications that involve heavy vibrations, such as drones, lawnmowers, or vehicles (refer to the video), fixed-focus cameras are recommended to ensure optimal performance.

OV9782 - Fixed-focus cameras feature a special sensor OV9782

We also offer a version that includes Wide Field of View:  OAK-D-PRO W POE
