Overview

  • Seamless Integration: Native to Raspberry Pi and doesn't require any additional drivers (Debian version: 11 'bullseye')
  • Easy to Use: Just enable the overlay to make it work
  • Global Shutter: Shoot high-speed moving objects in crisp, sharp images
  • IR Sensitivity: NoIR, sensitive to IR light. For IR-cut filter version see: B0161

Designed primarily for Raspberry Pi boards, the Arducam monochrome (B&W) global shutter VGA resolution OV7251 camera module eliminates the need for additional hardware by allowing direct connection to RPi's CSI-2 camera interface.

This camera module is fully compatible with the official V4L2 camera driver, and users can also leverage the Arducam SDK to achieve higher frame rates. With its global shutter and remarkable low-light sensitivity, this module is well-suited for applications requiring gesture detection, head and eye tracking, as well as depth and motion detection.

Equipped with NoIR (No Infrared) technology, this embedded camera module stands out with its remarkable ability to capture high-quality images in low-light environments. Unlike standard cameras, this NoIR camera can detect both visible and infrared light, making it an ideal choice for situations with limited lighting. By removing the infrared filter, this camera module excels in applications such as nighttime surveillance and astrophotography, providing innovative solutions to overcome the limitations of traditional cameras.

For the NVIDIA Jetson Nano version, see the B0223 (The previous Jetson Nano alternative B0212 has been discontinued).

Note
This camera and RPI driver don't support hardware JPEG/H.264 encoding
