Overview

  • Seamless Integration: Native to Raspberry Pi and doesn't require any additional drivers (Debian version: 11 'bullseye')
  • Easy to Use: Just enable the overlay to make it work
  • Global Shutter: Shoot high-speed moving objects in crisp, sharp images
  • IR Sensitivity: Integral IR-cut filter. If you require the NoIR version, see B0206 (if not in shop, please contact us for purchase)

The Arducam monochrome (B&W) global shutter VGA resolution OV7251 camera module has been specifically developed for Raspberry Pi boards. It offers the convenience of direct connection to RPi's CSI-2 camera interface without the need for any extra hardware. This camera module is fully compatible with the official V4L2 camera driver and also supports the use of Arducam SDK to achieve higher frame rates. With its global shutter and remarkable low-light sensitivity, this sensor is suitable for a wide range of applications, including gesture detection, head and eye tracking, as well as depth and motion detection.

This camera module is equipped with a Built-in 650nm IR cut filter. IR-cut filters are designed to cleanly cut out unwanted IR and UV light that would otherwise compromise the colour integrity of the image. By fitting an IR-cut filter, true to life colour can be restored.

For the NVIDIA Jetson Nano version, see the B0223 (The previous Jetson Nano alternative B0212 has been discontinued).

Note
This camera and RPI driver don't support hardware JPEG/H.264 encoding
