What are the benefits of using a GigE interface camera?

GigE is a well-established and trusted technology due to the many protocols available, such as GenlCam. It is well-suited for a wide range of applications, including high-resolution cameras, real-time image processing, and robust data transmission. Furthermore, because of its twisted shielded pairs, this interface does not suffer from interference due to external sources such as RF (Radio Frequencies). GigE enables long range data transfer, with cable lengths of up to 100m, whereas USB is up to 7m (without optical/active cables).

What are the 38G series cameras?

The 38G Series industrial cameras are equipped with state-of-the-art Sony sensors, delivering exceptional image quality and high resolution (up to 24.5 MP) for the most demanding machine vision applications in production and factory automation. Incorporating the GigE interface gives integrators the flexibility to deploy these cameras over extended distances without compromising image quality or performance. These cameras provide a wide range of advanced features, such as external trigger control, advanced readout functions (including ROI, subsampling readout, and multiple frame set output), and image and colour processing capabilities. These processing capabilities encompass functions like LUT, gamma adjustment, white balance, colour correction matrix, hue adjustment, and saturation control.
