The camera module is a a custom add-on specifically designed for Raspberry Pi, which can be easily attached to one of the two small sockets on the board's upper surface. This add-on utilises the dedicated CSI interface, which is exclusively designed for interfacing with cameras. The CSI bus is capable of transmitting pixel data at extremely high data rates, ensuring efficient and reliable performance.
The module boasts a compact board measuring approximately 36mm x 36mm. A notable feature of our module is its replaceable lens, setting it apart from the official version. This attribute makes it an ideal choice for mobile or other applications prioritising size and image quality. The module conveniently connects to the Raspberry Pi through a short ribbon cable. The camera is linked to the BCM2835 processor on the Pi via the CSI bus, a high-speed connection that efficiently transfers pixel data from the camera to the processor. This bus travels along the ribbon cable, securely attaching the camera board to the Pi.
The sensor possesses a native resolution of 5 megapixels and is equipped with a fixed-focus lens. Regarding still images, the camera can capture still images with a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. Additionally, it supports video recording at 1080p30, 720p60, and 640x480p60/90.
