What are the benefits of using a USB interface camera?

USB cameras offer integration with minimal effort and, in some cases, can offer UVC-compliance, which enables plug-and-play. The bandwidth of USB can achieve 5Gbps (depending on whether you are using USB 2.0 or USB 3.0) and can reach a range of up to 7 metres with passive cables. However, you can use an active optic cable to facilitate a longer cable distance of up to 100m, which may require an external power source (Active optic cables, in most cases, are at a higher price point and may not provide power to the end device).

What are the 37U series cameras?

The 37U series by The Imaging Source is designed with high-performance Sony Pregius and STARVIS sensors, making it an excellent choice for systems engineers and OEMs seeking a cost-effective solution. With its diverse form factor variants, this series provides a customisable option for different requirements. The compact and cost-optimised 37 Series USB 3.1 industrial cameras are specifically tailored for high-speed machine vision tasks, including production automation, quality assurance, and inspection.
