What are the benefits of using a USB interface camera?

USB cameras offer integration with minimal effort and, in some cases, can offer UVC-compliance, which enables plug-and-play. The bandwidth of USB can achieve 5Gbps (depending on whether you are using USB 2.0 or USB 3.0) and can reach a range of up to 7 metres with passive cables. However, you can use an active optic cable to facilitate a longer cable distance of up to 100m, which may require an external power source (Active optic cables, in most cases, are at a higher price point and may not provide power to the end device).

What are the AFU USB2.0 series cameras?

The AFU USB 2.0 series by The Imaging Source comprises USB 2.0 industrial cameras that are equipped with autofocus capability. These cameras ensure sharp image capture, regardless of any variations in the working distance. They are equipped with highly sensitive onsemi sensors, which guarantee exceptional image quality, even in challenging lighting conditions. Moreover, the cameras offer additional image control features, including automatic or manual adjustment of gain and exposure time, which can be conveniently accessed through the provided imaging software. The compact size of the cameras facilitates seamless integration into both new and pre-existing applications.
